Nuno Espirito Santo's managerial reputation continues to grow.

The bearded Wolverhampton Wanderers boss masterminded a mostly comfortable 2-1 victory over Manchester United on Saturday, sending the overachieving West Midlands side into the FA Cup semifinals for the first time since 1998.

Raul Jimenez buried Wolves' 70th-minute opener when he turned and found the bottom corner while under duress from Red Devils defenders. Diogo Jota put more daylight between the two teams six minutes later when he unbalanced Luke Shaw before lashing past Sergio Romero.

Marcus Rashford scored after 95 minutes, but there was no time left for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's throng to stage a comeback.

"Two years ago we were in a bad place," Conor Coady, who skippered Wolves to promotion into the Premier League last season, recalled to BBC Sport.

He continued: "It is a deserved result, we were outstanding. From start to finish we nullified them. They are an unbelievable club with talented players. We said before in the changing rooms we have the chance to make history and we now have the chance to go through again."

Wolves have been a revelation in the Premier League this season, taking huge results from members of the "big six" while currently claiming seventh place in England's top rung.

Wolves were 21st in the Championship in March 2017, and desperately looking to arrest a seven-game winless run. Wolves crucially won their next game against Rotherham United, and only Helder Costa, Romain Saiss, and current skipper Coady featured that day and in Saturday's FA Cup success.

"We are all pulling in one direction," Coady added, "it is an amazing night for everyone."

Millwall and Brighton & Hove Albion meet on Sunday to determine who joins Wolves, Manchester City, and Watford in the semifinals. The draw will be conducted straight after that match.
