Manchester United eliminated from Champions League contention

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer couldn't steer Manchester United into the Champions League.

A 1-1 draw with lowly Huddersfield Town on Sunday ensured that the Red Devils will finish outside the Premier League's top four with one match remaining on the calendar.

Despite other challengers consistently faltering over the past month, Solskjaer and Co. were unable to take advantage and secure a top-four spot that was very much up for grabs; United have picked up just three wins over their past eight league matches.

Sunday's result at the John Smith's Stadium leaves many questioning the full-time appointment of Solskjaer, who failed to sustain the improved form his side enjoyed after the Norwegian replaced Jose Mourinho on an interim basis in December.

Results have soured since the former striker received a permanent deal in late March, culminating in the decisive setback at the hands of the already-relegated Terriers.
