For the first time in five years, the Premier League title race came down to the final day, and like the 2013-14 installment, it was a battle between Manchester City and Liverpool for top-flight honors.

Manchester City traveled to the sunny south coast to face Brighton boasting a slight one-point advantage while Liverpool hosted Wolves at Anfield. Here's a look at what happened on a frenetic final matchday as top spot in the league changed hands on two occasions:

10:00 a.m. ET: Kickoff.

10th minute: Brighton's Anthony Knockaert fires over the bar after Kyle Walker's pass goes astray in the midfield. The Seagulls have started well. City look nervous. Brighton 0-0 City.

17th minute: Trent Alexander-Arnold's low cross takes a slight deflection off Willy Boly and directly into the path of Sadio Mane, who fires a right-footed finish beyond Rui Patricio. Liverpool 1-0 Wolves.

28th minute: It had to be Sergio Aguero. David Silva's backheel flick finds the faux blonde Argentine who deftly threads a close-range effort between Maty Ryan's legs. There were just 83 seconds between Murray's opener and Aguero's equalizer. Game on. Brighton 1-1 City.

63rd minute: Anfield is eerily quiet as Divock Origi spins to strike a bounding ball well wide. Supporters need a goal in another game hundreds of miles away more than they need another themselves. Meanwhile, in Brighton ... Liverpool 1-0 Wolves.

63rd minute: Riyad Mahrez, take a bow. The Algerian international's slick dribble on the edge of the area makes a fool of Dunk before the former Leicester City man rockets a strike beyond Ryan. City have one hand on the trophy. Brighton 1-3 City.
