Frank Lampard is set to receive substantial funds for a summer squad overhaul, and the Chelsea manager has targeted a pair of key potential additions.

Ajax star Hakim Ziyech and Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell top Lampard's summer wish list, according to a report from ESPN FC's Mark Ogden.

Ziyech, 26, has been identified as a much-needed attacking and creativity boost for a young Chelsea side. The Dutch-born Moroccan international was one of the standouts during Ajax's shock Champions League semifinal run last season and has paired six league goals with a half-dozen assists this term.

£80-million-rated England international Chilwell would replace defensive derelict Marcos Alonso at left-back. Chilwell has also been linked with Manchester City and Manchester United.

The Blues are also reportedly keen to lure Napoli forward Dries Mertens to Stamford Bridge, though its understood the Serie A side won't sell the player this January despite a contract set to lapse in the summer.

Chelsea had a two-window transfer ban for the recruitment of underage players reduced to a single window, meaning the London club could make signings during the January transfer period. Chelsea have yet to make any significant additions.
