Tottenham have signed speedy attacker Steven Bergwijn from PSV.

The club confirmed the move Wednesday, adding that the 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a deal through 2025. Reports suggest Spurs paid a Ā£27-million fee for the nine-time Dutch international.

Bergwijn checks off a lot of boxes for Tottenham. The versatile Amsterdam-born star has played on both wings, as a central attacker, and in a deeper midfield role this season.

Bergwijn paired five goals with 10 assists In 16 Eredivisie affairs this season.

A first-team debutant at just 17, Bergwijn made 149 total appearances for PSV over five-and-a-half seasons, recording 31 goals, including a career-best 15 during the 2018-19 term.

Bergwijn marks Tottenham's second significant signing of the winter window after Jose Mourinho's side lured Gedson Fernandes to north London on loan from Benfica with an option to buy. Giovani Lo Celso also penned a permanent deal with the club to help cover for Christian Eriksen's move to Inter.

Bergwijn will sport Eriksen's former No. 23 shirt.
