Tottenham Hotspur are hiring Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs and Postecoglou reportedly agreed to a two-year contract, which includes an option for an additional season. The deal will be announced once compensation with the Scottish champions is finalized, Romano notes.

Postecoglou completed a domestic treble with Celtic in Saturday's 3-1 Scottish Cup final victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The Australian tactician helped the Bhoys reclaim the Scottish Premiership title from Old Firm rivals Rangers last season in his first campaign at the helm.

"People around me have all worked hard to enjoy this moment, so that's what I'm going to do," Postecoglou said when asked about his future following Celtic's Scottish Cup triumph. "I will enjoy it for as long as I can before people drag me away to talk about other things."

Postecoglou, 57, won the Australian A-League with Brisbane Roar in 2011, clinched the Asian Cup with Australia in 2015, and guided Yokohama F. Marinos to the summit of Japanese football in 2019. He's used his knowledge and connections in countries under the Asian Football Confederation's umbrella to bring players like Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate, and Aaron Mooy to Parkhead.

Spurs haven't had a permanent head coach since parting ways with Antonio Conte in March. Cristian Stellini took over as interim coach before Ryan Mason replaced him in April. Tottenham limped to eighth place in the 2022-23 Premier League table despite a considerable transfer outlay last summer.

The club's search for a new manager hasn't been smooth. Arne Slot appeared to be Spurs' top target until he decided to stay with Eredivisie champions Feyenoord, while links with former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann and Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso proved fruitless.
