Derby's Wisdom hospitalized after being stabbed during robbery
Derby County defender Andre Wisdom has been hospitalized but is expected to make a full recovery after he was stabbed and robbed Saturday on the street in Liverpool, the Championship club announced Monday.
"Andre Wisdom has been the victim of an unprovoked assault and robbery. He sustained injuries which resulted in him being admitted to hospital," read a statement from Derby, according to the Guardian.
"The club will focus its efforts on supporting Andre and his family."
The 27-year-old is in stable condition following Saturday's attack and could be discharged from the hospital in the next couple of days, the Guardian added.
Wisdom, who joined Derby from Liverpool in 2017, will not be available for Wednesday night's Championship match against Preston North End.
