Those in attendance at Thursday's BMW PGA Championship observed a moment of silence at 11 a.m. to honor those who lost their lives in the Manchester terror attack earlier this week.

"Just solidarity, really. I think countries pull together in times like this," Justin Rose told the Golf Channel after his round. "If you don't, then the people doing these things are winning. Obviously just trying to show resolve and community spirit. It's just a tragic thing. Sometimes when it's political or government buildings are involved, whatever it might be, you almost can almost not understand it, but it is more logical. But when there are young children and families, that's just heartbreaking."

The European Tour's biggest event is being held in southwest London, roughly 200 miles from where the bombing took place.
