A two-man race for the Claret Jug awaits on Sunday at St. Andrews, with Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland entering play four strokes clear of the pack at The Open.

The European Ryder Cup teammates fired matching 6-under 66s while playing together on Saturday to reach 16-under for the championship. That mark sits just four shots off the all-time scoring record of 20-under at The Open, which Henrik Stenson set during the 2016 event at Royal Troon.

TheScore Bet is offering a special for users to bet on whether the record will fall in Sunday's final round.

Special: Will the Open Championship scoring record of 20-under be broken on Sunday at St. Andrews? (No -135, Yes +110)

The scoring conditions look prime for a low number on Sunday, with low winds projected throughout the day. McIlroy has played seven rounds of an Open Championship at St. Andrews, scoring in the 60s in six. His rounds of 66, 68, and 66 would all be good enough to match or break the record on Sunday.

Hovland also has rounds of 68, 66, and 66 on his card for the week in his first Open at St. Andrews and will need another low one to top McIlroy. The Norwegian golfer ranks 50th on the PGA TOUR in final-round scoring this season, averaging just over 69.

While it's unlikely anybody other than McIlroy or Hovland can threaten the record, the men tied for third have the firepower to give it a go. Both Cameron Young and Cameron Smith have an 8-under 64 to their name this week - a number that would match the record should either one repeat it on Sunday.
