Real Madrid's injury woes worsen with loss of Navas

Real Madrid are severely lacking available goalkeepers.

Shot-stopper Keylor Navas is dealing with an injury to his right adductor longus muscle, the Spanish side announced Friday.

Although the club did not provide a time frame for Navas' return, Chris Winterburn of Marca reports the 'keeper is "certain" to miss Saturday's match against Sevilla.

The news comes just over a week after first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois went down with a muscle injury. Courtois returned to training but is unlikely to be fit to return this weekend.

Adding to Madrid's woes, No. 3 Kiko Casilla joined Leeds United on loan for the rest of the season while Andriy Lunin is also out on loan at Leganes.

Toni Kroos (groin), Mariano Daz (sciatica), Marcos Llorente (groin), Gareth Bale (calf), Marco Asensio (hamstring), and Jesus Vallejo (hamstring) are dealing with injuries, too.

The injury crisis could result in manager Santiago Solari giving Luca Zidane - son of former Madrid manager and legendary midfielder Zinedine Zidane - a shot between the sticks in a match the club will be desperate to win.

Madrid have managed only one win in three La Liga matches since their FIFA Club World Cup triumph and now take on a Sevilla side that sits above them in third place with a superior goal differential.
