Report: Barcelona fail with 2 bids for Norwich's Max Aarons
Norwich City rejected two offers from Barcelona for highly rated right-back Max Aarons, sources told ESPN's Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens.
It's understood that personal terms are already agreed between Barca and Aarons' representatives, but the club's initial bid - a season-long loan with an option to buy for €20 million - and a follow-up offer were both rejected by Championship side Norwich.
The 20-year-old Englishman is apparently Barcelona's first choice to replace Nelson Semedo. Barca are reportedly in advanced talks to sell Semedo to a Premier League club as the Catalonian outfit hopes to bring in a new, younger player to compete with Sergi Roberto at right-back.
Barcelona are looking to offload Semedo for a fee in excess of €30 million, Marsden and Llorens understand.
The Blaugrana haven't given up trying to sign Aarons but have some alternative targets if their pursuit falls short. The club reportedly has been tracking Ajax's Sergino Dest for some time but, like Aarons, the American has also attracted attention from Bayern Munich.
Arsenal's Hector Bellerin and Manchester United's Diogo Dalot are further down Barcelona's list of options.
