West Ham United, who are desperate to add a new striker in the January transfer window after offloading Sebastien Haller to Ajax, have reportedly identified Youssef En-Nesyri as an ideal signing.

Sevilla rejected the east Londoners' opening offer of €25 million, plus €5 million in add-ons, for En-Nesyri, but negotiations are expected to continue between the two clubs, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein.

Sevilla triggered En-Nesyri's €20-million release clause to sign him from Leganes last January, and the Moroccan international has since notched 18 goals in 50 appearances for the Andalusian outfit. His form in the current campaign has been particularly impressive, as his recent hat-trick against Real Sociedad took his tally this season to 13 goals in 26 outings for club and country.

En-Nesyri still has four-and-a-half years left on his Sevilla contract.

West Ham's top Premier League scorer in 2020-21 is midfielder Tomas Soucek with five goals. Michail Antonio, a winger who recently converted into a striker, has netted on four occasions.
