Cristiano Ronaldo was forced to leave Portugal's Euro 2020 qualifier against Serbia on Monday after suffering an apparent hamstring injury, but the Juventus star downplayed the ailment after the match.

"I am not worried, I know my body. It happens, it's football ... I am fine because I know I will come back in one or two weeks," Ronaldo said, as quoted by ESPN FC.

The 34-year-old signaled for a substitution after appearing to experience discomfort in his right leg while chasing down the ball in the first half. He was replaced by Benfica midfielder Pizzi.

Portugal could ultimately muster just a 1-1 draw against Serbia, leaving the reigning European champion on two points from its opening two qualifying games.

If Ronaldo is out of action for longer than his personal two-week diagnosis, Juventus could be without their leading scorer in their Champions League clash with Ajax. The first leg of their quarterfinal encounter takes place April 10 in the Netherlands, with the return leg in Turin six days later.
