Portland Trail Blazers star CJ McCollum has withdrawn from this summer's FIBA World Cup, sources told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes. He'll instead concentrate on the upcoming season.

McCollum joins Anthony Davis, James Harden, and Eric Gordon as the latest players to withdraw from Team USA.

Damian Lillard, Kyle Lowry, Bradley Beal, Kemba Walker, and Donovan Mitchell are the remaining guards from USA Basketball's initial 20-player pool.

McCollum was the NBA's Most Improved Player in 2016. He averaged 21 points on 45.9 percent shooting across 70 appearances this past season.

The 27-year-old raised his level of play during the 2019 postseason, posting 24.7 points per game - including a 37-point, 9-rebound performance in Game 7 of the second round against the Denver Nuggets - to help Portland reach its first conference finals in 19 years.
