Carlos Vela to join LAFC in 2018 winter transfer window

Real Sociedad announced Tuesday an agreement in principle with MLS for the transfer of Carlos Vela during the 2018 January transfer window.

Vela subsequently took to Twitter, confirming he'll join Los Angeles Football Club:

Vela will be LAFC's first Designated Player signing, and the 28-year-old is the second Mexico star the club had been pursuing, according to Kevin Baxter of the Los Angeles Times. Bob Bradley's side failed to reach an agreement with Javier Hernandez earlier in the summer, with the man known as Chicharito eventually joining West Ham United.

Vela, capped 55 times for Mexico, has over 200 appearances for Sociedad to go along with 21 goals in all competitions.
