Report: Arsenal expected to sign Saint-Etienne's William Saliba for €25M
Defender William Saliba is reportedly expected to become Arsenal's first signing of the summer in a €25-million deal with Saint-Etienne, sources told ESPN FC's Julien Laurens.
The two sides are reportedly discussing the final details of an agreement that will see the France under-19 international eventually move to north London.
Arsenal fans, however, will have to wait to watch the 18-year-old in action at the Emirates Stadium, as Saliba is expected to remain at Saint-Etienne on loan next season to continue his development.
Regular playing time is another key factor in Saliba's decision to remain with the Ligue 1 outfit. He was also reportedly linked with moves to Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal have also been linked with a move for defender Kieran Tierney, 22, from Celtic, as well as a lucrative transfer for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.
