Paris Saint-Germain is set to name Antero Henrique its new sporting director after the capital club's Coupe de France final clash with Angers on Saturday.

Ahead of what is likely to be a busy summer as PSG looks to bounce back from a disappointing second-place campaign, ESPN FC's Jonathan Johnson reports that Henrique will be named for the position recently vacated by Olivier Letang in April.

Letang has since taken a job as chief executive at super-agent Kia Joorabchian's Sports Invest.

Reports also suggest that Henrique and current Atletico Madrid sporting director Andrea Berta were finalists for the appointment, with a move for the latter made more difficult by his contract situation and ties to Diego Simeone.

Johnson adds that PSG had meetings with both parties, eventually opting for Henrique in hopes that the Portuguese director will perform functions similar to those of Leonardo, who left the club in 2013.

After four league crowns on the bounce, PSG finished second to Monaco, and manager Unai Emery and first-year director of football Patrick Kluivert are under fire for a slew of questionable summer signings, not the least of which were big-money moves for Grzegorz Krychowiak and Jese.

It's unknown what effect Henrique's hiring will have on Kluivert, though it's likely the former Dutch international will be re-assigned to another position or let go.

Henrique was formerly the general director at Primeira Liga giant Porto, a position he held from 2006 until September 2016. During that spell, Porto won the league on five occasions paired with three domestic cups and the Europa League title in 2010-11.
