Lyon's Depay eyeing Real Madrid move

Memphis Depay is already talking about moving on less than a year after joining Lyon.

The Manchester United flop has enjoyed a successful spell in France since his January transfer to the Ligue 1 outfit.

But the Dutch international revealed his desire to suit up for Real Madrid - a goal that was perhaps far more realistic when he was banging in goals for PSV Eindhoven before his miserable spell in the Premier League.

"I think I'm going to Real Madrid. Yes, that's a serious goal," Depay said, as translated by Anthony Jepson of the Manchester Evening News.

"What's happened so far, that's God, he helps me and brings me here.

"I had very nice times at PSV, but I wanted to reach higher goals in my career. At Lyon I'm very happy. The club is in a way comparable to PSV."

Following his lucrative transfer to the Premier League from PSV in 2015, Depay failed to impress under manager Louis van Gaal, scoring just seven times in 53 appearances.

Depay has already matched his scoring output with United since joining the Ligue 1 side, scoring seven goals and setting up 10 assists in 25 league appearances.
