Mauricio Pochettino won't be leaving Paris Saint-Germain despite talks of a reunion with former club Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs reportedly contacted Pochettino at the end of May to discuss his potential return to north London. Pochettino was apparently considering rejoining Tottenham because the situation in Paris had become a "headache."

A source close to PSG told Agence France-Presse there was "nothing at all" to the speculation. The 49-year-old reportedly had a positive meeting with PSG's executives over transfer targets, underscoring his commitment to the capital club.

Pochettino also pushed PSG to sign free-agent midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, according to Romano, calling the Dutchman several times over the weekend to persuade him. Wijnaldum reportedly agreed to join PSG after accepting an offer to more than double his salary.

While rumors swirled over Pochettino's future, Tottenham attempted to hire former Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte. The two sides reportedly ended talks after disagreeing on salary and the number of investments in the squad.

Spurs have been without a permanent manager since firing Jose Mourinho in April. Ryan Mason saw out the remainder of the season in an interim capacity.

Pochettino has one year remaining on his contract with PSG.
