Alexis Sanchez suffers dislocated ankle tendons during Chile friendly
Inter Milan forward Alexis Sanchez could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury during Chile's friendly against Colombia on Saturday.
The 30-year-old attacker, on loan with the Nerazzurri from Manchester United, was hurt in the second half of the goalless draw. The Chilean national team confirmed Sunday that Sanchez has "dislocated tendons" in his left ankle, adding that he's been released from international duty as a result.
He's slated to undergo an MRI upon his return to Italy, where he'll learn the severity of the ailment.
Sanchez, who's looking to rehabilitate his withering career in Serie A, has scored once in three league appearances with Inter this season, chipping in with an assist in his side's Champions League loss to Barcelona.
