Reports linking Karim Benzema with a transfer to Arsenal are unfounded, according to the Real Madrid forward's agent.

Benzema's agent, Karim Djaziri, insists his client is eager to continue his career at the Santiago Bernabeu, considering he's fresh off signing a new long-term contract that will keep him in Madrid until 2021.

"Karim Benzema is very happy at Real Madrid," Djaziri told Sky Sports News.

"He signed a contract extension last month and has absolutely no intention of leaving the club."

Reports out of Spain indicated Arsenal was plotting a move for Benzema when the January transfer window opens. It's believed the Premier League side also submitted an offer to Real Madrid officials.

However, Djaziri's comments indicate Benzema, who joined Real from Lyon in 2009, prefers to stay in Spain and attempt to rediscover his form after an injury forced him to miss a month.

He's been limited to just five La Liga appearances with one goal this season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal doesn't appear to be in any need of another striker after Alexandre Lacazette, who joined the Gunners last summer for £53 million, was added to an attack that already includes Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud, and Danny Welbeck.
