The 2020 CP Women's Open is canceled due to travel and border restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Golf Canada announced Tuesday.

The tournament was scheduled to be played from Sept. 3 to 6 at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver.

"The CP Women's Open is a signature event for golf in Canada and on the LPGA Tour and we share in the disappointment of our fans, players, volunteers, and partners," Golf Canada CEO Laurence Applebaum said. "The health of everyone who comes together for the event is our top priority and together with our partners at CP and the LPGA Tour, we can now look ahead to hosting an exceptional CP Women's Open next year in the world-class city of Vancouver."

Organizers will now shift their focus to hosting the event from Aug. 26 to 29 at Shaughnessy during the 2021 season.

The CP Women's Open becomes the 13th canceled tournament on the LPGA's schedule.

Canadian Brooke Henderson won the 2018 CP Women's Open and world No. 1 Jin Young Ko was victorious in last year's running.
