Klopp, Ellis named best coaches at FIFA awards
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp beat Premier League rivals Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino to win the 2019 Best FIFA Men's Coach award Monday.
The German was recognized for a tremendous season in which he helped the Reds finish one point behind Premier League champions Manchester City before overseeing Liverpool's Champions League triumph.

Klopp, who is the first German to win the award, joined Liverpool from Borussia Dortmund in 2015. He guided the Merseyside outfit to two finals in his first season but ended the 2015-16 campaign without any silverware.
The 52-year-old had to wait until last season to lift his first trophy when Liverpool won their sixth European crown by beating Pochettino's Spurs side.
Meanwhile, Jill Ellis took home the Best FIFA Women's Coach award after helping the United States win the Women's World Cup in France.
England's Phil Neville and Dutch tactician Sarina Wiegman were also nominated.

Shortly after the U.S. won the competition for a record fourth time, Ellis - the second person in World Cup history to win back-to-back titles - announced that she'll step down from her role as head coach in October.
Ellis was also named FIFA World Coach of the Year in 2015 after the United States won the Women's World Cup in Canada.
