Things didn't go too well for David Price in his second rehab start Wednesday.

Pitching for Pawtucket in Triple-A, the 31-year-old southpaw's day was finished after he threw 89 pitches in 3 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits, six runs (three earned), and a walk, with three strikeouts.

Price was expected to be made available to the media after the game, but left the facility abruptly, according to Kyle Daluz of WEEI, telling a public relations member: "No, I'm out of here."

The Red Sox hoped he would last five or six innings, at least, and wanted his pitch count up from anywhere to 85 to 90 pitches. The poor performance comes five days after his first rehab start, when he needed 65 pitches to get through two innings.

On a more promising note, Price's velocity was there, as he topped out at 96 mph with his fastball. With two starts under his belt, it's unclear if Boston will want to see better results before activating him from the disabled list.
