Judge's debut jersey goes for whopping $157K at auction

Adam Hunger / USA TODAY Sports

Everything about Aaron Judge remains larger than life - including the cost of his shirt.

The New York Yankees phenom's debut pinstriped jersey from 2016 was sold for $157,366 on Sunday in an auction held by Steiner Sports, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

No jersey has sold for more in the "Big Four" leagues in the past 15 years than Judge's. For reference, Steph Curry's jersey from Game 3 of this year's NBA Finals was auctioned for $135,060 in June.

Judge, who's wowed everyone in baseball with his prodigious power, leads the American League with 33 home runs, and is tied for the major-league lead with Giancarlo Stanton.

The 25-year-old made his big-league debut Aug. 13 last year at Yankee Stadium, going 2-for-4 with - you guessed it - a home run in his first at-bat in the show.

A sign of things to come, clearly.
