2017 will forever be remembered as the Year of the Homer.

On Tuesday night, Alex Gordon's eighth-inning blast at Rogers Centre set a new cumulative MLB record for home runs in a single campaign, as his solo shot accounted for the 5,694th round-tripper of 2017 across the league (with nearly two weeks still to go).
