The New York Yankees will have some decisions to make this offseason, not the least of which is what to do regarding the expiring contract of CC Sabathia.

"This is my home. I want to see this thing through," Sabathia told Mike Axisa of CBS Sports following the Yankees' Game 7 defeat at the hands of the Houston Astros. "I want to come back here and finish things off. This is where I want to be."

The 37-year-old Sabathia is coming off of a five-year deal worth $122 million that was signed as an extension following the 2011 season. The left-hander has spent nine of his 17 career seasons in pinstripes, posting a 3.75 ERA over 255 games with New York.

Sabathia impressed during the postseason this year, crafting a 2.30 ERA heading into his early exit in Game 7.

"He's as good as I've ever been around when it comes to a clubhouse guy, a guy that will take the ball when you're on a losing streak or that you can count on," manager Joe Girardi said of Sabathia. "Our players can learn a lot from CC. The kind of fighter that he is. The things that he has to overcome to be successful."
