The Toronto Blue Jays held a meeting with left-hander CC Sabathia on Day 2 of the winter meetings, according to George A. King III of the New York Post.

The Los Angeles Angels and Sabathia's former team, the New York Yankees, have also expressed some degree of interest in the veteran.

Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins admitted the club is in the market for help in the bottom half of the starting rotation. Right-hander Joe Biagini transitioned from the bullpen last year but struggled, performing to a 5.73 ERA in 18 starts. With Marcus Stroman, Marco Estrada, J.A. Happ, and Aaron Sanchez filling out four spots, there appears to be a fit for Sabathia.

The 37-year-old is also familiar with Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro from their days together in Cleveland. Sabathia, who was drafted by the Indians in 1998, pitched seven-and-a-half years with the team from 2001-2008 when Shapiro was the team's general manager.

The left-hander recorded a 3.69 ERA (122 ERA +) and 1.27 WHIP in 27 starts this past season. He was particularly impressive in the playoffs, performing to a 2.37 ERA with 19 strikeouts in four starts across the ALDS and ALCS.
