Welcome back, Jay Bruce.

The New York Mets officially announced Bruce's return to Flushing on Tuesday on a three-year deal. Though terms weren't officially disclosed, it was reported last week that the deal is worth $39 million.

"I'm excited to return to the Mets to help finish what we set out to do at the beginning of last season and return to the postseason for the best fans in baseball," Bruce said in a statement Tuesday, according to SportsNet New York's Michael Baron. "We have a terrific group of guys in place and I'm excited to get back to work."

Bruce will be officially (re)introduced by the Mets at a press conference on Wednesday at 11 a.m., according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Bruce spent a little over one calendar year with the Mets, from July 2016 through to this past August, when he was traded to Cleveland for prospect Ryder Ryan. In his first stint in New York, the 30-year-old played in 153 games and hit .245/.313/.482 with 37 homers and 94 RBIs. He helped the Mets reach the NL wild-card game in 2016.

Last season, he slashed .254/.324/.508 (115 OPS+) with 36 homers - 29 of which came in a Mets uniform - and 101 RBIs. Following his trade to Cleveland, Bruce helped the Indians reel off an American League-record 22-game winning streak, then hit a pair of homers in their ALDS loss to the Yankees.

The three-time All-Star has hit 277 home runs over his 10-year career with the Mets, Indians, and Cincinnati Reds.
