Detroit Tigers right-hander Michael Fulmer was roughed up by the Houston Astros on Saturday, but he said blame for the loss shouldn't solely be placed on him.

After Fulmer allowed 10 hits and seven earned runs in 4 2/3 innings against the reigning World Series champions, he called out home plate umpire Pat Hoberg.

"The guy was god-awful,'' Fulmer said after the loss, according to ESPN. "It was a bad day for him and for me. ... You can't give a team like the Astros extra strikes. It's just what it boils down to. I made my fair share of mistakes, but there's 10 calls about pitches inside the zone that he called balls. I let him know he missed 10.''

Fifty-five of Fulmer's 88 pitches in the contest were called for strikes, and although he felt like he had some of his better stuff against the Astros, the box score didn't reflect it, with his ERA rising from 4.11 to 4.50.
