Yelich falls short of Triple Crown bid in final game
The wait for the National League's first Triple Crown winner since 1937 will be extended at least another season.
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich finished just short of becoming the first NL winner since Joe Medwick despite going 3-for-4 with an RBI during the final game of the regular season on Monday.

Yelich entered the NL Central tiebreaker game against the Chicago Cubs needing one home run and two RBIs to move into a tie for the lead in each category. He already had his first batting title secured. Instead Yelich, finished no higher than second in home runs and RBIs, falling one short in each category.
There's been 17 seasons with a Triple Crown winner in history, with just six coming from the NL. Miguel Cabrera was the last player to win the Triple Crown, when he hit .330 with 44 home runs and 139 RBIs for the Detroit Tigers in 2012.
