More than a year's worth of drama involving Manny Machado officially ended on Tuesday when the 26-year-old superstar inked a historic contract with the San Diego Padres.

The past 434 days have been eventful for the flamboyant infielder. Let's look back at his journey from Baltimore to Los Angeles, his free-agent tour, and how he became baseball's newest $300-million man.

Dec. 12, 2017: A report says the Orioles are shopping Machado after the two sides fail to agree on a contract extension.

July 15, 2018: Machado finishes the first half of the season with 24 homers, 65 RBIs, and a .963 OPS. A handful of teams express interest in acquiring him from Baltimore.

July 17, 2018: Machado becomes a four-time All-Star, and participates in his last game while representing the Orioles.

July 18, 2018: The Orioles trade Machado to the Los Angeles Dodgers for five players. The New Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Boston Red Sox were also interested.

July 20, 2018: Mannywood 2.0 is officially underway after Machado reaches base four times in his Dodgers debut.

July 30, 2018: Machado cranks a solo home run in the ninth inning of his home debut for the Dodgers.

Oct. 1, 2018: Dodgers secure their sixth straight National League West title in a tiebreaking-game win over the Colorado Rockies. Machado hits .273/.338/.487 with 13 home runs and 42 RBIs for Los Angeles following the July trade.

Oct 8, 2018: Dodgers defeat the Braves in the NLDS. Machado homers twice in the series.

Oct. 15, 2018: Machado is involved in two questionable slides during Game 3 of the NLCS against the Brewers.

Oct. 16, 2018: During an interview with The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, Machado controversially admits he doesn't like to hustle:

"I’m not the type of player that’s going to be 'Johnny Hustle,' and run down the line and slide to first base and … you know, whatever can happen. That’s just not my personality, that’s not my cup of tea, that’s not who I am."

Oct. 16, 2018: Machado causes a bench-clearing brawl after clipping Jesus Aguilar's ankle at first base. Brewers players later say he's dirty, and Machado is reportedly fined $10,000 for his actions.

Oct. 20, 2018: After beating out a bunt, Machado appears to shake his crotch at Brewers fans during Game 7 of the NLCS. The Dodgers eventually win the series.

Oct. 23, 2018: Machado appears in his first World Series game and is emphatically booed at Fenway Park because of his long history with the Red Sox.

Oct. 26, 2018: In Game 2 of the World Series, the Red Sox accuse Machado of stealing signs.

Oct. 27, 2018: Machado spikes Red Sox first baseman Steve Pearce in Game 4 of the World Series.

Oct. 28, 2018: Red Sox defeat Dodgers to win World Series.

Oct. 31, 2018: In a cryptic thank you message to the Dodgers, Machado hints he won't return to Los Angeles.

Nov. 4-5, 2018: The White Sox, Phillies, and Yankees appear to be the front-runners for Machado, according to multiple reports.

Nov. 14, 2018: Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner wants Machado to explain "troubling" comments about hustling.

Nov. 16, 2018: Phillies owner John Middleton says his organization expects to spend "stupid" money in free agency. The team is targeting Machado and fellow free agent Bryce Harper.

Nov. 21, 2018: During an interview, Machado clarifies his "Johnny Hustle" remarks, saying his comments didn't come across properly.

Dec. 10, 2018: Machado is reportedly expected to meet with the White Sox, Phillies, and Yankees in a week.

Dec. 17, 2018: Machado's free-agent tour begins in Chicago when he meets with the White Sox. Chicago acquired Yonder Alonso, Machado's brother-in-law, in a trade three days earlier.

Dec. 19, 2018: Next, he meets with Yankees executives, takes a tour of Yankee Stadium, and eats a fancy dinner in Manhattan.

Dec. 20, 2018: The City of Brotherly Love is Machado's final stop. Prior to meeting with Phillies GM Matt Klentak, a Philadelphia construction worker stops Machado on the street and tells him to "get the money."

Dec. 21, 2018: Machado reportedly won't decide where he'll sign until the new year, though a separate report indicates the slugger told his friends he prefers the Yankees.

Dec. 31, 2018: Machado follows, then unfollows, the Yankees' television network on Instagram.

Jan. 2, 2019: The Yankees will reportedly continue their pursuit of Machado, even after signing shortstop Troy Tulowitzki.

Jan. 7, 2019: Machado reportedly expects to land a contract in the $220-270 million range.
