New York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit was in the middle of an impressive day at the plate in London on Saturday against the Boston Red Sox before being forced to leave with an injury.

The 28-year-old was removed from the game with tightness in his core muscle below the belly button, according to the Yankees' radio broadcast, via ESPN's Marly Rivera.

Voit appeared to suffer the injury while rounding first base in the fifth inning en route to his third double - and fourth hit - of the game.

"I rounded first weird and felt discomfort in my lower abdominal area," Voit said postgame, according to YES Network. "It's not my groin or hip flexor. It's kind of weird and I don't know how to explain it. I've never had something like this before, so I'm going to see the trainers and doctor tomorrow and see what's going to happen. Honestly, I feel fine."

There are no tests scheduled for Voit. He'll be re-evaluated on Sunday.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said he's going to be cautious with his first baseman and doubts Voit will start on Sunday, according to Erik Boland of Newsday.

The slugger has played well for the Yankees during the first half of this season. He entered Saturday's contest with a .270/.386/.491 slash line alongside 17 home runs and 49 RBIs.
