The San Diego Padres are entertaining calls for closer Kirby Yates, but he won't be leaving on the cheap.

Teams inquiring about a potential trade for the All-Star right-hander say the Padres have placed a very high price tag on Yates, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.

The Minnesota Twins were previously linked to Yates in trade rumors, but no deal materialized.

Yates has been electric in his first full season as San Diego's closer. He leads the major leagues with 30 saves and has posted a 1.10 ERA and 0.81 WHIP across 41 innings of work.

The 32-year-old was a bit of a journeyman prior to joining the Padres. He was selected off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels in 2017.
