The Washington Nationals are getting their ace back.

Max Scherzer told reporters "I'm good" after throwing in left field at Minute Maid Park on Tuesday before Game 6, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. After seeing him throw, Nationals manager Davey Martinez named Scherzer the team's Game 7 starter, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.

"He will go as long as his neck lets him," Martinez added, according to Scott Miller of Bleacher Report. The skipper added that Scherzer flew first class to Houston, and wore a neck brace on the flight.

Scherzer was originally tabbed to start Game 5, but he became a last-minute scratch after waking up with spasms in his neck and upper-right trapezius. Joe Ross started in his place, and the Houston Astros won to take a 3-2 World Series lead.

It's unclear if Scherzer could be used out of the bullpen in an emergency during Washington's must-win Game 6, which Stephen Strasburg is slated to start, or if he'll only start Game 7.

Scherzer started Game 1 of the World Series, holding the Astros to two runs on five hits and three walks over five innings while striking out seven.
