Justin Verlander will set an MLB record and be held winless for the seventh straight World Series start of his career, according to Baseball Reference.

After allowing three runs on five hits and three walks during Game 6 of the Fall Classic against the Washington Nationals, the Houston Astros ace was lifted following five innings trailing 3-2. The Nationals held the lead and won 7-2 to drop Verlander's World Series record to 0-6.

Including Tuesday's Game 6, Verlander now owns a 5.68 ERA over 38 innings in the World Series dating back to the 2006 championship when he and the Detroit Tigers lost to the St. Louis Cardinals.
