The market for free-agent outfielder Kevin Pillar is taking shape.

The Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates are among teams interested in the seven-year veteran, reports Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

Pillar became a free agent after the San Francisco Giants non-tendered him in December.

The 31-year-old put up career highs in home runs (21) and RBIs (88) while playing in 161 contests split between the Giants and Toronto Blue Jays in 2019. Pillar, renowned for his highlight-reel catches, finished 22nd in NL MVP voting after garnering one 10th-place vote.

Boston is currently projected to start Andrew Benintendi, Jackie Bradley Jr., and Alex Verdugo in the outfield, while Pittsburgh is expected to go with Bryan Reynolds, Gregory Polanco, and Jason Martin.
