Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez is still being evaluated after suffering an oblique injury, manager Charlie Montoyo said Monday, according to Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun.

The Jays were waiting for swelling to diminish before making a decision regarding a roster move, and they wound up placing Hernandez on the 10-day injured list, according to Andrew Stoeten of The Athletic.

"He's not going to be playing in the next couple of days, for sure," Montoyo said.

It's believed the 27-year-old suffered the injury while swinging during Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox. He's reportedly expected to miss an extended period of time due to the ailment.

Hernandez owns a .995 OPS with 14 home runs in 39 games this season.

Right-hander Wilmer Font also landed on the IL, with outfielder Jonathan Davis and right-hander Sean Reid-Foley getting recalled.
