Report: Brewers, Maile agree to major-league contract
The Milwaukee Brewers and catcher Luke Maile have agreed on a major-league contract, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Terms of the deal, which is pending a physical, are not yet known.
The Pittsburgh Pirates last employed the 29-year-old, but he didn't appear in a major-league game for the team in 2020 after suffering a fractured finger prior to the delayed Opening Day.
The catcher last played in an MLB game in 2019, working 45 contests for the Toronto Blue Jays and hitting .151/.205/.235 with two homers and one stolen base.
The Brewers currently have two catchers in arbitration. Omar Narvaez is projected to earn between $2.7 million and $3.1 million, while Manny Pina is slated for between $2.1 million and $2.3 million, according to MLB Trade Rumors.
