The Los Angeles Dodgers placed star slugger Cody Bellinger on the 10-day injured list retroactive to April 6 with a left calf contusion, the team announced Friday.
Prior to the IL designation, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Bellinger's calf had made "steady improvement," according to Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times.
Bellinger suffered the injury during Monday's game against the Oakland Athletics when he was trying to beat out a throw to earn an infield single and reliever Reymin Guduan spiked him.
The 25-year-old was 4-for-19 through four games before being sidelined.
Outfielder Luke Raley was recalled from the alternate training site in a corresponding move.
