The Atlanta Braves could be without a big piece of their lineup for an extended period.

Braves outfielder Eddie Rosario is set to undergo a laser procedure later in the week to correct blurred vision and swelling in his right eye, the team announced Monday.

The Braves will know more about Rosario's timetable for recovery following the procedure, but the loose estimate is 8-to-12 weeks, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Justin Toscano reports.

Rosario has gotten off to a horrendous start in 2022 after inking a two-year, $18-million contract to return to Atlanta in the offseason. The 30-year-old is slashing a paltry .068/.163/.254 without a home run or RBI in 44 at-bats.

The eight-year veteran played an integral role in the Braves' run to a World Series title in 2021. Rosario hit .383/.456/.617 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in 16 postseason games and captured NLCS MVP.
