Major League Baseball came down hard on the Los Angeles Angels and Seattle Mariners with 12 suspensions after their huge brawl Sunday, the league announced Monday.

Angels Games Mariners Games
Phil Nevin 10 Jesse Winker 7
Anthony Rendon 5 J.P. Crawford 5
Dom Chiti 5 Julio Rodriguez 2
Andrew Wantz 3
Ryan Tepera 3
Raisel Iglesias 2
Ray Montgomery 2
Manny Del Campo 2
Bill Haselman 1

Nevin, who replaced Joe Maddon as Angels manager in early June, received the lengthiest suspension because Wantz intentionally threw at Winker after the umpires implemented warnings. The skipper began serving his punishment Monday.

Meanwhile, Rendon will serve his ban when he returns from the injured list, and he's not allowed to sit on the Angels' bench for the next seven contests. The third baseman is out for the rest of the season following wrist surgery.

Tepera and Iglesias are appealing their suspensions while Wantz is not, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

Winker's seven-game suspension is the largest by any member of the Mariners. The outfielder said that Nevin and Rendon instigated the situation by yelling at him from the L.A. dugout.

The three Seattle players can stagger their bans, but the club isn't allowed to add to its major-league roster, according to Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times.

Three Angels coaches were banned as a result of the incident. Chiti is out as of Monday, while Montgomery and Haselman will serve their punishments when the former returns. Del Campo, who's the club's interpreter, also got a two-game suspension.
