The Chicago White Sox placed shortstop Tim Anderson on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a sagittal band tear on the middle finger of his left hand.

Anderson is expected to be sidelined four-to-six weeks, a source told Russell Dorsey of Bally Sports.

This is Anderson's second stint on the IL this season. The All-Star also missed about two weeks in June for a strained groin.

The 29-year-old has put together another strong campaign in 2022. Anderson owns a .301/.339/.395 slash line with six home runs, 25 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases in 79 games.

Chicago reinstated right-hander Reynaldo Lopez from the 15-day IL in a corresponding move.

The White Sox dropped the first game of a doubleheader with the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday. They trail the Minnesota Twins by two-and-a-half games in the AL Central.
