Schneider tired of Blue Jays' offensive struggles: 'Enough is enough'

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider is growing weary of his club's inability to come up with a clutch hit.

The Blue Jays mustered just three hits in 16 at-bats with runners in scoring position during Sunday's 8-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. They also left 12 men on base, resulting in a three-game sweep at Rogers Centre.

"We just need to get hits when we need to," Schneider said, according to MLB.com's Keegan Matheson.

"We have tons of chances, and we're just not really coming through with the double plays from George (Springer) and (Kevin) Kiermaier today. It's kind of at the point where enough is enough. You're waiting for it to turn, and it will - not 'I think it will,' but 'I know it will' - and in order to get there, the guys are going to have to continue to work their asses off."

Kiermaier and Springer both hit into inning-ending double plays with a runner on third base and less than two outs. Brandon Belt and Bo Bichette also combined for a strike-'em-out-throw-'em-out double play with runners on first and third in the bottom of the first inning to snuff out a potential rally.

The Blue Jays are 24th in the league with a .235 average with runners in scoring position.

Toronto will look to rebound when it opens up a four-game series with the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays on Monday at Tropicana Field.
