Rockies re-sign Stallings to 1-year, $2M contract

The Colorado Rockies re-signed catcher Jacob Stallings to a one-year, $2-million deal, the club announced Wednesday.

The contract includes a $2-million mutual option for 2026 with a $500,000 buyout, according to The Associated Press.

Stallings can earn three additional bonuses totaling $500,000 for reaching 80, 90, and 100 games played at catcher.

Stallings is fresh off the best offensive season of his career in which he slashed .263/.357/.453 across 82 games. The 118 OPS+ he posted was his highest with at least 200 plate appearances.

The 34-year-old catcher, who won a Gold Glove with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2021, ranked in the 94th percentile for blocks above average. He caught a dozen runners stealing, the 12th most among NL backstops.

Stallings own a .672 OPS across parts of nine MLB campaigns.
