The New York Yankees recently discussed a contract with free-agent first baseman Christian Walker, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
Walker is one of the top first base options on the market this offseason, alongside former New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso.
The Yankees are currently projected to enter the 2025 campaign with Ben Rice at first base. Last year's starter, Anthony Rizzo, is a free agent and isn't expected to return to the club.
Walker has 95 home runs and 281 RBIs since the start of the 2022 season. The 33-year-old is coming off a third consecutive Gold Glove nod with the Arizona Diamondbacks and belted 26 home runs with 26 doubles and 84 RBIs across 130 games last season.
