Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black announced Friday that second baseman Thairo Estrada will miss four-to-eight weeks with a broken right wrist, according to MLB.com's Thomas Harding.
Estrada sustained the injury when he was hit by a pitch from Texas Rangers right-hander Kumar Rocker during Thursday's game.
The Rockies will likely turn to veteran infielder Kyle Farmer to fill in at second base while Estrada is sidelined.
Estrada signed a one-year, $3.25-million contract with the Rockies in January. The 28-year-old spent the last four seasons in the NL West as a member of the San Francisco Giants.
Estrada's a career .251 hitter with 48 home runs, 70 doubles, and 195 RBIs across 469 games.
