Los Blancos buffs abroad hoping to see their side play a competitive match on U.S. soil may fancy a chat with Florentino Perez.

The Real Madrid president has offered his take on La Liga's intentions to play a domestic match in the U.S. beginning this season, saying the capital city club would not partake if asked.

"We will not go to the United States." Perez told Real's assembly Sunday, per AS. "I don't know in whose interest it (a game in the U.S.) is, but is not in the interests of the clubs and the fans. We will categorically refuse."

LA Liga chief Javier Tebas' plan requires permission from the Spanish Footballers' Association, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and other groups to play Girona's home fixture against Catalan cousin Barcelona in Miami on Jan. 26.

Tebas asserts that any side that agrees to play a league match in the United States will do so willingly. "I'd like to remind that the project to go to play in America was born precisely a year ago with the same company that did the tour with Real Madrid in the US," Tebas told AS.
