The United States put on a record-breaking show in Reims.

A hapless Thailand was unable to provide any resistance against the reigning World Cup champion Tuesday, as the Americans opened their tournament by smashing multiple records in a 13-0 thrashing.

Here are some of the most startling numbers from the contest:

3 - The U.S. became the first team in tournament history to have three different players score at least two goals in the same match, with Alex Morgan, Rose Lavelle, and Samantha Mewis each getting on the board multiple times.

5 - Morgan became the second player in Women's World Cup history to score five goals in a single game. She followed in the footsteps of compatriot Michelle Akers, who managed the feat in 1991 against Chinese Taipei.

6 - The six-minute span needed to record four tallies in the second half was the quickest a quartet of goals has ever been scored in the competition.

7 - The USWNT equaled the World Cup record with seven different scorers in one game.

8 - With five goals and three assists, Morgan became the first player to be involved in eight goals during a single Women's World Cup match.

13 - The 13-0 victory was the most lopsided triumph in Women's World Cup history, unseating Germany's 11-0 win over Argentina from 2007.

36 - Carli Lloyd (36 years, 330 days old) is now the oldest American player to find the back of the net in a Women's World Cup match.
