Herrig announces bout vs. Casey for UFC 218
Felice Herrig is looking to end 2017 on a high note.
"Lil Bulldog" announced Friday on Instagram she'll be squaring off with Cortney Casey in a strawweight bout at UFC 218 on Dec. 2 in Detroit. Herrig has won three straight fights and picked up decision victories over Alexa Grasso and Justine Kish this year. Her lopsided win over Kish earned her the ninth spot in the promotion's divisional rankings.
Since dropping her first two contests in the Octagon, Casey has gotten her hand raised in three of her last four. "Cast Iron" was last seen taking a one-sided decision over Jessica Aguilar at UFC 211, a win that cemented her as the outfit's No. 12 strawweight.
The Herrig-Casey matchup is the first to be attached to the UFC's December trip to the Motor City.
